Combine butter and sugar for the cake; add beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with the chopped apples and nuts to the butter mixture.
Put into a greased 9x13 inch pan.
Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle evenly over the cake batter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
