This week continues all things Christmas at From this Kitchen Table. (Find all the posts here.) Be sure to come back the rest of the week to read about keeping our eyes on Christ this season, a gift guide for teenage girls (written by my two teenage sisters) and to get a fabulous recipe for a gingerbread latte. Brrr. The cold front has arrived. I tell myself if could be worse if I lived in MN but it still doesn’t make it very pleasant. The snow avoided us and the roads stayed clear which we were thankful for and we were able to escape the house to our local book/toy store for a while. We cancelled our little two night trip we were supposed to take this weekend because of iffy driving conditions on the way there and walking around Silver Dollar City with a windchill in the teens sounded like torture.

Someone is enjoying helping clean up after Christmas baking and a warm cup of tea in a mug from Germany is the perfect way to warm up.
Staying home allowed me to finally feel like I was caught up from Thanksgiving vacation and I made some caramel corn and fudge! Yum.

Pizza Nachos
Breakfasts:
- Apple Pancakes (from freezer)
- Yogurt
- Cranberry Pineapple Smoothies
Lunches:
- Chicken Stir fry
- Beef Ribs and Twice Baked Potatoes (4 lonely ribs that had been sitting in our freezer from when we bought part of a side of beef too long ago)
- Potatoes ( Sweet for Kenna and me and white for Shaun)
Suppers:
- White Bean Chicken Chili
- Pizza
- Pizza Nachos (new recipe, tasty but think we’d like it better without the white sauce)
- Leftovers
- My husband’s work party (bringing fudge and layer dip)
Goals:
- Format and edit 3 guest posts
- Write a Christmas recipe post
- Start Pride and Prejudice for Motherhood and Jane Austen book club (join in the fun of reading all 6 of her novels in 2014.)
- Keep up with Truth in the Tinsel (Really enjoyed the first 8 days)
- December Budget Meeting
- Exercise 2 times (after doing nothing for so long, I figure 2 is better than none)
Anything yummy on your menu this week? What goals are you hoping to tackle?
Be to come back tomorrow for the next post in our Christmas series (Gift Guide for Teenage Girls)! You can follow us on Facebook or subscribe by e-mail to be sure you don’t miss out!

Linking up to Menu Plan Monday

Good luck with your goals. I’m reading this while I procrastinate exercising myself, so especially go for that one. What do you do when you exercise?
Ha ha, thanks! The hardest thing is getting started on the exercise for me. Once I get going I enjoy it. I’m going to shoot for getting my two times in Monday and Tuesday so I can cross it off. We’ll see what happens. I really like some of the Class Fitsugar videos – they have a ton of 10 minute ones to do that you can combine to do a whole body workout if I have the time. http://www.fitsugar.com/class-fitsugar When it was nicer outside I’d go running.
We too are having terribly cold weather. It’s just 15 degrees today, Brrr! Caramel corn sounds delicious.
That’s freezing! Too cold to do anything outside. 🙂 I should be thankful our roads stayed clear. Some friends spent the night on the interstate heading to Dallas in a line of traffic and are still stuck there. I love caramel corn – I think it’s my favorite Christmas treat. Thanks for stopping by.
My goal is to exercise twice this week, too. I’m really struggling with it right now but yes, I agree that twice is better than nothing! Here are my goals:

Amen! Twice it better than nothing. Hoping to get my first day done this afternoon! Thanks for stopping by.
I just joined the Facebook group for the Austen book club. What fun. I’ve never read Mansfield Park, so was glad to see it listed second!
It does look like a lot of fun! It’s been years since I’ve read any of them so I’m really looking forward to it!
Coming over from Organizing Junkie & stealing the Pizza Nacho recipe! Looks delish!
They were super tasty and a fun twist on the standard nacho! Love how easy nachos are to customize.
I’m sorry. Pizza nachos does not sound appetizing to me, but the Motherhood & Jane Austen Book Club does! I’m joining too! Sounds fun and I need a refresher of all things Austen. Have a great week!
Ha ha, they were pretty interesting. Other than the white sauce they weren’t too bad but I think I prefer them the Tex Mex way. 🙂 Yay, glad you joined! Me too, it’s been a while since I’ve read any of her books.
Pizza Nachos? I bet my kids would love that as a surprise on our typical Pizza and Family Movie Night! I hope you stop back by Sweet Hersey Living as I have been working on posting recipes for my entire weeks dinner menu! 3 recipes down, 3 more to go! Tonight I’m posting my recipe for the Garlicky Yogurt Sauce we use on our stuffed pitas!
Good luck with your goals this week! Exercise? What’s that? I haven’t ran in 3 weeks! I was doing nearly 10 miles a week before Thanksgiving break. Jiggle Jiggle!
They are kind-of a fun twist on pizza and super easy to customize. That’s a lot of recipes! I’m going to have to go and check them out.
Ha ha, thanks! Tell me about it, exercise is pretty much a distant memory. Thanks for reminding me I still need to get my second time in. You held out longer than I did with running. When the weather started getting cold, I quit. 🙂
