This is one of the easiest meals in the world to make and it is super tasty! We had a pasta bar when we were visiting my family earlier this year and my brother-in-law declared this the best alfredo sauce he’d ever had!
Most recipes say this amount will cover a pound of noodles. Not even close! Please make a double or triple batch if you are needing enough for that much pasta. This recipe will serve 4-6 depending on portion size, what else you are serving with the meal etc. Sliced blackened chicken would taste amazing served on top of the pasta.
Leftovers of the sauce will turn solid in the refrigerator. Slowly reheat and whisk to combine again and it will be perfect.

Best Alfredo Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
- 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 small clove garlic, finely minced
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Place the butter and garlic in a skillet and melt butter.
- After butter is melted add heavy cream and whisk. The mixture will be separated, just keep whisking as it heats and the butter and cream will combine.
- After mixture is hot and combined, turned off heat and whisk in the cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Stir until cheese is melted.
- Serve immediately over your choice of noodles.
Notes
Optional - can top with a little freshly grated nutmeg.

Oh jeeze! I wish I didn’t see this recipe. It looks so easy that I’m going to be making it all.the.time. π
You are right, it’s too easy and I normally have everything except the cream on hand. Perfect for one of those crazy nights.
I am pinning this to try later this week. It looks amazing!
I hope that you guys like it! We had it again last week using leftover past. Thanks for stopping by.
I’ve made this three times in four days! Yes, it’s that good! I used it to make a chicken & bacon Alfredo pizza and used Romano, Mozzarella, and Asiago cheese on a Pillsbury pizza dough. The third time making it, I changed the butter to unsalted butter and added about 1/4 cup more cream. Just finished eating it tonight again! So amazingly delicious!
Yum! I’ve made 3 different kinds of alfredo sauce and the more parmesan cheese, the better! I’m coming from Good Tips Tuesday!
More cheese makes pretty much anything better. π Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I ‘m a big fan of Alfredo sauce . I’ve been looking for a homemade recipe for a while that I would like I think I’m going to give yours a try. Thank you for sharing it . Looks yummy!

Yum! Alfredo sauce used to be my favorite when I was younger. I love that I can make it myself now with simple ingredients (and not have to buy it premade in the store). Thank you for linking up at the Sunday Social Blog hop!
Me too! It is so yummy. I love anything with butter and cream. Thanks for hosting!
Dear Deanna, Your alfredo sauce sounds comforting and delicious. I love how simple it is too. What a treat! Thank you for sharing with us on Foodie Friends Friday. Don’t forget to linkup with us this Friday! Blessings, Catherine
It is comforting and delicious and I love how quickly it comes together. Hooray for meals that are completed in the time it takes the pasta to cook! Thanks for hosting.
This looks delicious. My go-to white sauce goes something like grab-any-milk-available-and-add-garlic. Having a real recipe (that’s stuffed with cheese!) sounds like a great change! Thanks for sharing at the mixing bowl party, Deanna.
It is so good! We’ve enjoyed this several times lately – creamy and delicious. Your white sauce sounds like mine – garlic makes anything better! Thanks for hosting the Mixing Bowl Party.
I have made this exact recipe for years and originally got it from my mom! It is wonderful and anyone that has ever had it says the same π
How funny that we have the same recipe! It is amazing, isn’t it! So glad to know that other people love it as well.

I made this tonight & it was awesome! Thanks for the recipe!
Yay!!! I’m so glad you liked it. We love it in our house too. Thanks for letting me know.
I absolutely love alfredo sauce, but I can’t ever seem to get it the way I want. This one seems to be a winner! I can’t wait to try this!!! Thank you!
Me too!!! This recipe has worked really well for us and it’s super easy – no messing with the egg yolks etc. I had someone comment on Pinterest that it didn’t thicken for them, but that’s never happened for me. I always buy the block Parmesan and great it myself.
